The Public Health-Public Safety Collaborative was formed from a sincere desire by our collaborators to act as positive catalysts for change when facing some of the most complex issues of public life. Challenges such as addiction and drug use, mental health response by first responders, chronic homelessness, and increasing crime rates are incredibly difficult to rein in at the local level. We seek to bring a collective xx years of experience to even the most heated of tables in order to help guide conversation between local officials overseeing government administration, public health, and public safety so they can work together to design complimentary, community-lead, trauma-informed programs, apply for outside grant resources, and leverage their collective, and respective, strengths.
